Carlos Augusto Correa Vivanco, un emprendedor lojano apasionado por el mundo del deporte y la precisión en el cronometraje, ha transformado su pasión en un emprendimiento innovador: CTIMES Cronometraje. En ese entonces, participaba en la realización de carreras de carros de madera, trikes y tubulares en su ciudad natal, Cariamanga. Posteriormente, al trasladarse a Loja para estudiar Administración Pública, su pasión lo llevó a integrarse como voluntario en eventos de rally organizados por el Loja Automóvil Club. Allí, bajo la guía de referentes como Homero Fabricio Cuenca, Rubén Cuenca y Fausto Palacios, adquirió valiosas experiencias y conocimientos sobre la organización de competencias deportivas.
“Siempre me llamó la atención el mecanismo de cronometraje de grandes eventos internacionales como el Rally Dakar, la Fórmula 1 o el XGames”, comenta Carlos, quien decidió profesionalizar su pasión y buscar soluciones tecnológicas para modernizar el cronometraje en la región.
En 2024, Carlos dio un paso crucial al importar desde Europa equipos de cronometraje basados en tecnología RFID, que permiten la lectura de chips para un registro de tiempos más preciso y eficiente. La primera carrera en la que utilizó estos equipos fue el evento IVÁN TACURI 10K en Malacatos, organizado por Chesman Tacuri, donde los resultados fueron un éxito rotundo.
Desde entonces, CTIMES ha estado presente en importantes eventos deportivos como la Ruta de la Longevidad BANCO DE LOJA MTB 45K, el Triatlón Interinstitucional de la APASOUTPL y La Castellana de ciclismo de ruta de FEDELOJA. Con estos logros, el emprendimiento se ha posicionado a la altura de empresas especializadas de ciudades como Cuenca, Guayaquil y Quito.
