Nacido en el barrio 9 de Diciembre del cantón Celica, en la provincia de Loja, hoy reside en Madrid, España, donde desde hace cinco meses desarrolla una nueva etapa orientada al fortalecimiento de su perfil como ingeniero civil.
Su formación académica se inició en la escuela La Salle, continuó en el colegio Daniel Álvarez Burneo y culminó sus estudios superiores en la Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL), institución donde consolidó los conocimientos que le permitirían incorporarse tempranamente al ejercicio profesional. Desde sus primeros años, Vaca Silva mostró interés por el trabajo técnico aplicado y por adquirir experiencia directa en obra y laboratorio, aspectos clave en su campo.
Su recorrido laboral comenzó como ingeniero junior en la empresa CONSCUPAL (Constructora y Consultora Cueva Palacios Conscupal Cía. Ltda.), donde tuvo su primer acercamiento al trabajo estructural y de gestión en proyectos de construcción. Posteriormente, amplió su experiencia técnica al desempeñarse como laboratorista en RIPCONCIV Construcciones Civiles Cía. Ltda., función que le permitió profundizar en el control de materiales y en los procesos de calidad, fundamentales para la ejecución de obras civiles. Más adelante, regresó al rol de ingeniero junior en ROCAZ Constructora Rocaz Rojas Cazar Cía. Ltda., consolidando una visión integral del sector desde distintas áreas operativas.
Actualmente, Jeffrey Vaca se encuentra realizando prácticas profesionales en la empresa Viales y Obras Públicas S.A. en España, una experiencia que le permite conocer de cerca el funcionamiento de proyectos de infraestructura en un contexto europeo, con normativas, metodologías y exigencias distintas a las de su país de origen. Este proceso forma parte de su objetivo principal: continuar con estudios que fortalezcan su perfil profesional y amplíen sus oportunidades laborales a mediano y largo plazo.
La experiencia migratoria, sin embargo, no está exenta de desafíos personales. Vaca Silva reconoce que extraña a su familia, su círculo social y la comida, elementos que forman parte de su identidad y de su vida cotidiana en Ecuador. A ello se suma la nostalgia propia de dejar atrás el país de origen, el choque cultural y la adaptación a un estilo de vida diferente, marcado por nuevos ritmos y dinámicas sociales.
Respecto a su futuro, mantiene una postura abierta y reflexiva. Señala que su permanencia en España dependerá de las circunstancias y de las oportunidades laborales que se presenten, las cuales analizaría cuidadosamente antes de tomar una decisión definitiva. Por ahora, su enfoque está centrado en aprovechar esta etapa de formación y práctica profesional, con la convicción de que cada experiencia suma a su crecimiento como ingeniero civil.
