La Subzona Loja, a través de la Unidad de Policía del Medio Ambiente, enfocadas en reducir el tráfico de vida silvestre y en cumplimiento a las órdenes de carácter judicial, el pasado 21 de agosto, se procedió a la retención de un elemento constitutivo de vida silvestre, en un lugar de gastronomía ancestral ubicado en un barrio nor occidental de la ciudad.
Se trata del cuerpo de un oso de anteojos disecado, el mismo que hoy reposa bajo la custodia de la Policía Judicial y a disposición de la Fiscalía General del Estado. Acciones que se realizan enfocados en reducir el tráfico de vida silvestre
Otras de las consignas del personal policial encargado de la conservación del Medio Ambiente, es el constante control del contrabando del producto forestal, muestra de ello es la retención de un vehículo pesado, por la vía oriental de paso, del cual se aprehendió 6.34 M3, pesado automotor que fue retenido y trasladado hasta los patios de retención vehicular a órdenes de la autoridad forestal.
