La medalla al Mérito Educativo a Víctor Hugo Samaniego Luna, rector-canciller del Instituto Superior Universitario Bolivariano de Loja, lo otorga la Asamblea Nacional por decisión unánime al trabajo académico en la Región Sur del país y su repercusión internacional.
La Legislatura, por medio de los parlamentarios lojanos, entrega el reconocimiento a la máxima Autoridad de esta entidad académica, líder en la Zona 7 del Ecuador, durante un acto especial que se realiza mañana (10:00), en el teatro Benjamín Carrión Mora de la urbe lojana.

El galardón representa una gratitud en honor a su destacada trayectoria e invaluable contribución al fortalecimiento de la educación superior, dentro y fuera de la nación ecuatoriana a través del éxito de programas, proyectos y actividades de vinculación social.
La trascendencia de los resultados obtenidos en diferentes acciones de investigación e innovación plasmadas en publicaciones científicas, dentro de las áreas de las Ciencias de la Salud, Ciencias Administrativas y Gastronómicas, Nutrición y Turismo, a más de las Ciencias de la Educación, permitió que la Asamblea entregue esta distinción.
Importancia
El homenaje no solo reconoce el liderazgo y el compromiso del Rector del Universitario Bolivariano, sino que refleja los valores del organismo que dirige, siendo parte de los cinco primeros Institutos de la nación.
El nuevo reconocimiento de carácter nacional constituye un impulso al desenvolvimiento de la entidad académica que promueve: excelencia, integridad y dedicación a la formación de ciudadanos comprometidos con el desarrollo de la sociedad.
