#Olmedo | El COE Cantonal de Olmedo de la provincia de Loja, decidió declarar en EMERGENCIA al cantón, debido a la constante presencia de lluvias, y graves afectaciones por temporada invernal durante tres años consecutivos; en infraestructuras de viviendas, instituciones educativas, iglesias, sectores turísticos y de patrimonio, servicios básicos, vialidad y en la producción agropecuaria.
Klever Sánchez, alcalde del cantón Olmedo, expresó que mediante reunión mantenida con los miembros que conforman las mesas técnicas del COE Cantonal, se analizó la situación actual y las consecuencias de los fuertes inviernos en temporadas anteriores y que hoy en día continúan las precipitaciones lluviosas y acrecienta en nivel de riesgo en el cantón, con ello han procedido a realizar la declaratoria de emergencia, desde el 18 de abril del presente año, para que el Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado Municipal a través de gestión y los Ministerios competentes puedan activarse con las ayuda y atención pertinente, inmediata y prioritaria con ello, canalizar de manera oportuna los recursos asignados para mitigar los daños ocasionados y garantizar la seguridad e integridad de la población olmedense.
Moradores del barrio Loma Redonda, perteneciente al cantón Olmedo, manifiestan su preocupación y solicitan la intervención inmediata por entes gubernamentales para solucionar algunos de los problemas que azotan a varias familias del sector por temporada invernal.
