Macará, Loja. Personal del Ejército Ecuatoriano, en una operación militar realizada en la frontera sur del país, logró la aprehensión de dos ciudadanos de nacionalidad peruana que portaban 33.600 dólares americanos.
Según el informe oficial, los detenidos no pudieron justificar la procedencia del dinero, motivo por el cual se procedió a la incautación del efectivo y a la entrega de las evidencias a las autoridades competentes para los respectivos trámites legales.
El Ejército subrayó que este tipo de operaciones forma parte de las acciones de seguridad desplegadas en el territorio nacional, con el objetivo de recuperar la paz y garantizar la protección de los ciudadanos.
La institución reiteró su compromiso de mantener la vigilancia activa en las fronteras, especialmente en zonas sensibles como el cantón Macará, para combatir actividades ilícitas.
La investigación está en curso, y las autoridades judiciales determinarán las acciones legales correspondientes.
