Acompañada por Francesco Tabacchi, la candidata a la Vicepresidencia de la República, Blanca Sacancela, denunció públicamente al Presidente Noboa por silenciar el debate.
De acuerdo a la vicepresidenciable, la decisión del Gobierno del presidente Daniel Noboa de prohibir la transmisión del debate vicepresidencial en los medios públicos del Estado representa una flagrante violación de los derechos de participación política, acceso a la información y equidad electoral, fundamentales para el fortalecimiento democrático del Ecuador.
En una carta dirigida al Presidente de la República, y con copia al Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE), Sacancela exigió que se garantice la transmisión en vivo del debate, programado para el 12 de enero de 2025, a través de Gamavisión, TC Televisión, Ecuador TV, radio Pública y otros medios públicos.
Señaló que estos no son propiedad del gobierno, sino herramientas del pueblo ecuatoriano destinadas a asegurar el acceso equitativo y la pluralidad informativa. «La censura y el silencio no son compatibles con una democracia moderna. Esta decisión afecta a todos los ecuatorianos y, especialmente, a las mujeres que hemos asumido liderazgos en la política nacional. Exigimos que se respete nuestro derecho a participar en igualdad de condiciones y el derecho del pueblo a estar informado», afirmó Sacancela.
Blanca Sacancela instó a las autoridades responsables a corregir este atropello y reiteró su compromiso de defender los derechos democráticos, la transparencia electoral y la representación política equitativa para todos los ciudadanos, especialmente en favor de las mujeres y las comunidades históricamente excluidas.
